Custom Software Development & Integration in Adelaide

Custom software, automation and integrations that remove manual work, connect your systems and fit the way your business really operates.

Software engineering

Software built around
the way you work.

Based in Adelaide, we develop custom software and web applications for businesses that need their systems to work together. This can include management portals, API integrations and tools that reduce repetitive work.

When off-the-shelf software doesn’t fit, or your team is stuck copying data between systems, custom software can close the gap.

Capabilities

Software built for the job, not adapted to it.

From portals and internal tools to the connections between your systems.

  1. Web portals and management interfaces

Web-based portals and admin tools for quoting, bookings, job tracking, content and other processes that are unique to your business, designed around the tasks people need to do.

  2. API development and integration

We connect the systems you already use, such as your website, CRM, accounting, booking and inventory software, through their APIs, and build new APIs where your systems, apps or partners need to exchange data. For example, a booking made on your website can create the customer record in your CRM and a draft invoice in your accounting software, without anyone typing it in twice.

  3. Automation and connected information

Automating repetitive tasks such as data entry, document generation, notifications and reporting, so your team can focus on higher-value work.

  4. Digital signage and interactive software

Software, control interfaces and data connections for screens and touchscreens, working with Metromatics, who supply the display hardware.

  5. Database systems

Structured databases that replace scattered spreadsheets, with the right permissions, search and reporting built in.

  6. Data migration and older systems

Moving data out of older systems and spreadsheets, cleaning it and importing it into new software, or keeping an older system running alongside the new one during the changeover.

  7. Maintenance and support

Updates, fixes, security patches and improvements after launch, so your software keeps working as your business changes.

Project experience

Software that meets the real world.

Our experience includes live sports data feeds, display control interfaces, remotely managed visitor information and connections between booking systems and signage. These projects bring software development, interface design and operational requirements together.

In practice

A custom CMS for an interactive war memorial.

For the Balonne Shire interactive war memorial, delivered with Metromatics, we built a custom content management system behind a public touchscreen kiosk.

Staff can import records in bulk from an Excel mail merge, and the system handles inactivity resets, timed on and off scheduling and QR codes linking to documents, while preventing open internet browsing. It’s hosted on our servers, so updates can be made remotely.

Web applications

Web applications for
your team and customers.

Many business tools work best as web applications: secure software that runs in the browser, with logins, user roles and one shared set of data. We build web applications for customer and staff portals, quoting and job management, bookings and reporting, designed around the tasks people perform every day.

A web application works on any device with a browser, so it’s often the quickest way to give people access. If staff or customers also need an installable phone app, our app development team can build one on the same data and back end.

Engineering principles

How we approach every build.

Good software is about more than working code. It has to be reliable, secure and maintainable for years.

  • Requirements agreed before development
  • Technology chosen to suit the project
  • Security considered from the start
  • Role-based access and permissions
  • Clean, documented, maintainable code
  • Testing at every stage
  • Data import and migration planned
  • Backups and recovery in place
  • Training and handover documentation
  • Support available after launch

Development process

From requirements to running software.

A structured process that keeps scope, budget and progress visible throughout.

  1. Discovery

We map your current processes, systems and pain points, and define what the software needs to do.

  2. Specification

We document the requirements, data, users and integrations, and agree on scope and priorities.

  3. Design

We plan the architecture, database and interface, and review screens and workflows with you.

  4. Development

We build in stages, sharing working versions regularly so you can test and give feedback.

  5. Testing and launch

We test thoroughly, migrate your data, train your team and launch the software.

  6. Support

We maintain, update and improve the software as your needs change.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about custom software development.

When does custom software make sense?

Custom software is worth considering when off-the-shelf products don’t match your processes, when your team spends hours on manual data entry, or when several systems need to work together. We’ll also tell you if an existing product would do the job.

Can you connect our existing systems?

Often, yes. Many business systems provide APIs or data exports that can be connected. We’ll review what your systems support and recommend the most reliable approach.

Who owns the software?

Ownership and licensing are agreed in writing before development starts, so there are no surprises. We’ll explain the options as part of your proposal.

How much does custom software cost?

It depends on the scope, integrations and complexity. After discovery we provide a clear proposal. Starting with the most valuable features and adding more over time is often the most cost-effective approach.

Do you support the software after launch?

Yes. We offer ongoing maintenance and support, including updates, fixes and new features as your business grows.
