The challenge
A touchscreen in the middle of the street.
As part of its Elderslie Street refurbishment in 2019, Winton Shire Council wanted a touchscreen designed primarily for visitors to find attractions and events around the region.
The screen would stand in the middle of the street with little or no shade, so Metromatics designed and built the screen itself. The interactive software to drive it was the second part of the project.
Our contribution
PADS4 software integration.
We handled the PADS4 software integration for the touchscreen, working with the screen hardware supplied by Metromatics.
The solution
Designed for the council,
self-contained in the sign.
According to the project record, LaunchPADS worked with Metromatics and the council to develop an easy-to-navigate wayfinding solution, producing a series of designs to suit the council’s style before building the presentation in PADS4.
There’s no internet at the site, so the presentation is self-contained within the sign. Visitors can browse See and Do, Traveller Information, Events, About Winton and Services.
