Digital signage
Digital Signage Solutions Adelaide
Bring your content, data and displays together. Red Earth develops digital signage software and interfaces, working with Metromatics to connect the software with the right display hardware.
Digital signage
Software for the way
you communicate.
Your screens should show information that is useful, timely and easy to manage. We develop signage solutions around the content you need to publish, the data you need to connect and the people who will operate the system.
We can build using Fusion or PADS4, or develop a solution using our own software. The approach depends on your existing systems, project requirements and how the signage needs to work.
How we can help
Three ways we can help.
Platform, software and data: most projects combine more than one.
-
Fusion and PADS4 development
Build on an established signage platform with tailored interfaces, content templates and data integrations. We have experience developing with both Fusion and PADS4.
-
Custom signage software
When a project needs a tailored approach, we can develop using our own software in partnership with Metromatics. This can bring content, controls and connected information into an interface designed for the project.
-
Data integration and automation
Connect signage with live information and business systems. Our project experience includes live sports statistics, room-booking information, custom control interfaces and remotely updated visitor content.

Applications
Where digital signage can help.
Some of these come from our project experience and others are uses we can plan with you. Each one says which.
-
Retail and destination signage
Promotions, directories and information displays. Project experience: the interactive directory at Portside Wharf, a waterfront retail precinct, delivered by LaunchPADS with Metromatics.
Digital wayfinding -
Hotels and venues
Meeting-room information, event schedules and wayfinding. Project experience: booking-connected meeting-room and wayfinding screens at InterContinental Adelaide, delivered by LaunchPADS.
-
Sports and events
Live information and display controls. Project experience: live game statistics and a custom display control centre for the Adelaide 36ers, delivered by LaunchPADS.
-
Corporate communication
Staff and visitor information for offices, foyers and staff areas. A use we can plan with you.
-
Interactive signage
Touchscreen content and visitor experiences. Project experience: the Balonne Shire interactive war memorial, delivered with Metromatics.
Interactive digital displays -
Digital menu boards
Menu layouts and scheduled content, such as menus that change through the day. A capability we can discuss for your venue.
Working with Metromatics
Hardware and software,
working together.
Metromatics supplies the display hardware. Red Earth delivers the software, interfaces and data integration. Working together, we can develop a solution that brings the physical display and its content into one coordinated project.
Project experience
Signage projects we can draw on.
These projects were delivered under the LaunchPADS name in 2019 and 2020 and are part of the experience behind our signage work. The original partners are credited.
-
Adelaide 36ers
Live statistics and custom display controls. LaunchPADS worked with the statistics software provider on a custom feed, presented it in PADS4 and provided a control centre for the displays and perimeter advertising. Completed August 2019.
-
InterContinental Adelaide
Booking-connected information displays. LaunchPADS connected PADS4 to the hotel’s room-booking system, so meeting-room and wayfinding screens update automatically. Delivered with Pro AV Solutions (SA), December 2019.
-
Frankston City Council
Interactive wayfinding and a custom web portal. LaunchPADS developed PADS4 wayfinding with remotely managed content for a touchscreen supplied by Metromatics. Completed April 2020.
Digital wayfinding
Case study
Balonne Shire interactive war memorial.
With Metromatics, we delivered an interactive war memorial for Balonne Shire: a touchscreen kiosk backed by a custom content management system.
Records can be imported in bulk from an Excel mail merge, the screen resets after a period of inactivity, scheduling turns it on and off automatically, and QR codes link visitors to supporting documents. Open internet browsing is blocked, and because the system is hosted on our servers, content can be updated remotely.
Airport and passenger information
Information for people
on the move.
Our experience includes PADS4 software integration for display projects at Kangaroo Island Airport, where the hardware was supplied by LaunchPADS, and at Roma Street in Brisbane, with hardware supplied by Metromatics.
If you’re planning screens for a terminal or transport setting, we can talk through the information you need to show and how it will be managed. The scope is agreed for each project.
Case studies
Beyond the Brief.
-
-
Booking-Connected Signage
A connected signage project using room-booking information to update meeting-room and wayfinding displays automatically. -
Interactive Wayfinding and Content Portal
An interactive visitor-information system combining touchscreen wayfinding with a custom portal for remotely managed content. -
PADS4 Integration and Tablet Control
PADS4 integration for the check-in counter, flight status and passenger-information screens in a new airport terminal, with tablet-based control of PADS4. -
Live Bus and Coach Departures in PADS4
Bus and coach feeds converted into live feeds for PADS4, so passenger-information screens could show departures as they changed. -
Outdoor Visitor Touchscreen
An outdoor touchscreen on Winton’s main street, giving visitors information about attractions, events and services, with PADS4 running offline inside the sign.
How we work
Planning a digital signage project.
A clear process from the first conversation to screens your team can run.
-
Discuss your requirements
We talk through the content you need to publish, the information it relies on and how the screens will be operated day to day.
-
Assess platforms and integrations
We look at whether Fusion, PADS4 or our own software suits the project, and at the systems and data the signage needs to connect to.
-
Design and develop
We design the screen layouts and operator interfaces, then develop the software, templates and integrations.
-
Test with the agreed hardware
We test the software and content on the display hardware agreed for the project, supplied by Metromatics.
-
Hand over and agree support
We hand the system over, show your team how to use it and agree the support arrangement that suits you.
FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about digital signage.
Can you work with Fusion or PADS4?
Yes. We have built solutions with both platforms and can develop interfaces and integrations around the needs of your project.
Can you use your own software?
Yes. We can develop a solution using our own software in partnership with Metromatics where that approach suits the project.
Who supplies the hardware?
Metromatics supplies the display hardware; Red Earth delivers the software. The proposal sets out each party’s responsibilities.
Can signage update from a business system?
We can assess the available data, access requirements and integration options, then develop a suitable connection. Compatibility and update frequency depend on the systems involved.
What does it cost?
Cost depends on the software, integrations, content, display hardware and support required. We define the scope with you before preparing a proposal.
